CLEANING A DESIGN

Indexed files may have stray pixels that you wish to replace with other colors. If they are infrequent, you can zoom in on the file and fill pixels individually with correct color, using either the Pencil Tool or Fill Tool.

If shapes within the design contain many multicolor stray pixels:

Using the Magic Wand (set to Contiguous with a Tolerance of 0) select one main color in the image. Expand the selection by 1 or 2 pixels to capture the stray pixels within the shape (Select > Modify > Expand). Once the stray pixels are absorbed, contract the selection by the same number of pixels (Select > Modify > Contract). Fill with main shape color (Edit > Fill > Color) Repeat with each color in design. Review file for any stray pixels and fill with pencil.

If shapes within the design have a halo of multicolor pixels:

Using the Magic Wand (set to Contiguous with a Tolerance of 0) select a color in the image. Expand the selection by 1 or 2 pixels to absorb the halo. Fill with main shape color (Edit > Fill > Color) Repeat with each haloed color in design. Review file for any stray pixels and fill with pencil.
